The two most common closures are:-.

"FST12/24 - These splice cases cam accommodate up to 24 fibres using one or two 12 fibre splice tray cassettes

"The FST96 series- These splice cases can accommodate up to 96 fibres using up to eight 12 fibre splice tray cassettes.

The closures are suitable for all types of cable construction and designs including unitube, stranded core, tight buffered cables, dielectric cables and armoured cables. The fibre splice closures are modular and re-enterable, permitting future cables to be added after initial installation. The closures are made with thermoplastic material that provides UV stabilisation, cold temperature performance and chemical resistance. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications including aerial, pedestial, underground and buried applications. Heatshrink sealing systems provide an airtight and watertight seal and superior pull-out strength. We can also offer a mechanical sealing system if required. The closures are re-enterable and reusable, with no requirement for re-entry kits or specialised tools. The closures will fit distribution network applications in the local loop, including both standard and balloon/splice configurations. The FST12/24 closures are equipped with four single entry ports and one large oval port for 'loop through' installations. The FST96 closures are equipped with six single entry ports and one large oval port for 'loop through' installations.
